Structural Bodywork

A session with Chris is probably different from anything you have experienced before.

It will begin with a postural assessment where Chris will look at your body from front, back, and sides in order to assess the global patterns and compensations present. Rather than just treating the area of pain or discomfort, Chris seeks to discern the root cause/s of your issues and embark on a thorough journey of unwinding your fascia so as to rebalance the lines of tension that hold your skeleton into its pattern.

When he has seen what he needs to in order to begin understanding your body’s compensation patterns, the work begins.

If you’re looking for a quick fix or a general rub down, Chris is not the therapist for you. If you’re seeking to make lasting change in your body, move towards a state of balance, ease, and resilience, then you should get in touch.

In order to affect change in the fascia, no oil is used; only a balm if necessary.

Chris’s work is slow, thorough, and profound. Working on unravelling a lifetime of trauma, compensation, and imbalance has to be. Beginning at the superficial structures of the body, then gradually working deeper, towards the core. Then outwards again and towards integration, in standing, walking, and being.

Some individuals may perceive their losing fight with gravity as a sharp pain in their back, others as the unflattering contour of their body, others as constant fatigue, yet others as an unrelentingly threatening environment. Those over forty may call it old age. And yet all these signals may be pointing to a single problem so prominent in their own structure, as well as others, that it has been ignored: they are off balance, they are at war with gravity.

"Chris knows how to feel your pain and release it! Very healing energy and I always feel like new afterwards! He has a gentle and calm personality. Very comfortable to relax around. I give him both thumbs up! Give him a try and you will know what I mean."

Lisa Kempson

"Chris gives a very good, strong massage. He clearly knows what he is doing and hits all the right spots. Besides being a very good masseur, he is very interesting to talk to. I have used his services many times and feel relaxed and confident I will get what I need each time."

Alan Charles

"After years of rugby and a chef's life, my shoulders and back can cause me endless pain and discomfort. Chris offers a strong and healing massage. He certainly opened up the movement again. Thanks for the good vibrations bro! I dig your passion for your craft mate, it's what gives you your edge."

Duncan Isles

"Chris has an amazing ability to find knots and once he finds them he is determined to do your body a favour. His massage is strong and intuitive. He really does inspire confidence. Add to that the fact that he is one of the loveliest human beings you will ever meet and you can't go wrong."

Greg Livingstone

"It is brilliant to find someone who loves their work and even after years of practice, still continues to learn and grow their technique. This guy will find that spot in a stiff neck or a tight calf muscle and will go after it! Hands down, best massage ever."

Adam Waldock

"Chris was very professional and made me feel really comfortable. He made sure to concentrate on areas with tension, so relieving. Another bonus is he seemed to enjoy his job, so left feeling positive. Would highly recommend and will be back! Thanks Chris :)"
