Chris Carpenter Structural Bodywork

Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI)

Available Tuesday – Saturday

Chris is passionate about helping his clients experience less pain and more freedom in their bodies.

His interest in bodywork began early. As a child, Chris would often make the rounds of the dinner table, offering shoulder massages when family had guests over. After finishing school, he went on to study massage, beginning what became more than a decade of practice as a remedial massage therapist.

Over time, Chris grew increasingly frustrated by the lack of lasting results he was seeing for many clients. This led him to seek a deeper understanding of the body and the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. That search began with his introduction to Anatomy Trains, which sparked a long and ongoing journey into structural integration.

Chris brings almost twenty years of hands-on bodywork experience to his practice. He holds two formal massage qualifications (Diploma of Remedial and Relaxation Massage, Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies) and has trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Since 2018, he has been immersed in Anatomy Trains Structural Integration training, deepening his understanding of fascial relationships, posture, and whole-body patterns. In March 2026, Chris completed his ATSI qualifications and is now a fully qualified Anatomy Trains Structural Integrator.

Chris loves working with complex, long-held tension and postural patterns, and supporting meaningful change at a deep structural level. He is especially drawn to clients who feel they have tried everything, yet continue to struggle with persistent pain or restriction.

Outside of the clinic, Chris is a father to a beautiful little girl and enjoys spending time with his family. He loves gardening, being out in nature, collecting spring water, and soaking up the natural beauty of the world around him.

What my clients have to say

"Chris was very professional and made me feel really comfortable. He made sure to concentrate on areas with tension, so relieving. Another bonus is he seemed to enjoy his job, so left feeling positive. Would highly recommend and will be back! Thanks Chris :)"

Jasmine Willis

"It is brilliant to find someone who loves their work and even after years of practice, still continues to learn and grow their technique. This guy will find that spot in a stiff neck or a tight calf muscle and will go after it! Hands down, best massage ever."

Adam Waldock

"Chris knows how to feel your pain and release it! Very healing energy and I always feel like new afterwards! He has a gentle and calm personality. Very comfortable to relax around. I give him both thumbs up! Give him a try and you will know what I mean."

Lisa Kempson

"Chris has an amazing ability to find knots and once he finds them he is determined to do your body a favour. His massage is strong and intuitive. He really does inspire confidence. Add to that the fact that he is one of the loveliest human beings you will ever meet and you can't go wrong."

Greg Livingstone

"After years of rugby and a chef's life, my shoulders and back can cause me endless pain and discomfort. Chris offers a strong and healing massage. He certainly opened up the movement again. Thanks for the good vibrations bro! I dig your passion for your craft mate, it's what gives you your edge."

Duncan Isles

"Chris gives a very good, strong massage. He clearly knows what he is doing and hits all the right spots. Besides being a very good masseur, he is very interesting to talk to. I have used his services many times and feel relaxed and confident I will get what I need each time."
